About me
It was a bright sunny day on March 9th, 1981 at 12:05 noon when I entered the world. I was born at the hospital on Main Street in New Amsterdam Guyana, South America. I grew up in a family of 4 kids. I am the oldest child. My father was a preacher in the small village where I grew up. Many people came to our home for advice and support from my parents. This was especially exciting for me because I was able to talk with them while they waited to be seen. I would ask them many questions about their families and offer them water or sweet snacks.
My childhood was spent playing with my siblings, riding my bicycle and going to church. I especially loved riding my blue bmx bicycle. I still ride now as a grownup. Instead of riding on unpaved streets and grassy field like the ones in Guyana I now ride over the Williamsburg Bridge crossing from Manhattan to Brooklyn.
My family and I moved to the United States in 1995. Boy, were we in for a surprise when we arrived. It was the blizzard of 95’ which. 20.2 inches of snow fell in a few short months. Our desire to see snow and eat strawberries quickly faded as we yearned for our homeland. We remembered eating ripe mangoes, sipping on fresh water coconuts
I began pursuing my passions of writing children’s stories and meditations with excitement and gladness after having a close encounter 2 days before my 43rd birthday with a life altering experience. This happened in March of 2024. I am grateful for the opportunity to waking up every day, eating delicious foods, spending time with my family and all the people that I love.
My hobbies are everything the beach, listening to the breeze, watching the waves come in and out on the shore feeling the sun on my brown skin. I also love physical challenges like the Mud Girl Run and Rugged Maniacs. These races are filled with obstacles which are fun for me because I get to run in mud pits and get really dirty. These activities make me because it reminds me of being a child playing and having fun and looking forward to the next pool of mud water that I can plunge in.

Why do I write stories for childrens?
I write stories for children because I love to read them. I spend many hours reading to my almost 6-year-old daughter. I love looking at the beautiful illustrations and I reading the words on each page. The wonderful words of a story can transport me in to different land in a matter of minutes. I also have amazing memories from my childhood in Guyana and I am proud to share them. If you have a copy of my books you can scan the QR code that will direct you to Insight Timer and you can hear me reading it.
